If you are a parent with small children, have you ever gotten them a pet? Most parents will get their child a pet that they can call their own, but these rights to the pet will most of the time come with rules. This child will have to feed their pet, give their pet a bath, and just clean up after this animal. When this animal gets mad, sometimes it might tear up the newspaper or the toilet paper.
If this animal is not housebroken, it will leave all kinds of smelly messes for you to clean up. This will be a big reason why kids will tire of having pets. Another reason is that they get tired of being responsible for feeding and watering them. If the child is too young for this pet, it would be a good idea to wait until the child is over the age of five. If the pet is an exotic pet like hamsters, lizards, hedgehogs and even turtles, these aren't the best types for little ones under five.
Exotic pets carry unwanted germs that could be hazardous to your young kids. These little children are good at putting their hands in their mouths and of course these germs are on their hands. Even when small kids get a hold of the family pet, be it puppy or kitten, these little kids will unknowingly hurt this pet by picking it up by its neck or pulling too hard on its tail. These acts on these pets will make that pet fight back by either scratching or biting.
These acts will most likely result in having to take the pet to the pound or taking the child to the doctor. Sometimes these bites can be really bad. When pets are put outside in fences and signs are put up telling you that this animal will bite, be careful when going to close to the fence.
If you are walking down a street that does not have a sidewalk and have to walk closer to a house and its fence because of traffic on the road, this is when you need to be particularly careful of getting bit by a dog. Don't try to pet this animal because it might bite you through the fence, and if it is posted for this reason you can't do anything to the pet owner. Even small animals can bite and some of them can inflict as much pain as a bigger animal.
