When your dog is experiencing female dog heat symptoms you will find that they seem to be anxious and uncomfortable. What can you do to help them during this difficult time in their life? You might be surprised to learn that these symptoms are a great deal like the symptoms that a woman might feel in their time of the month. Comfort and understanding is what your female dog needs during their time of season. While it is not true that a woman will behave in the same manner as a female dog, but the dog will experience a change in temperament just like a woman. There are some things you can do to minimize the anxiousness that the dog is feeling. The one thing that you should do is keep her in the house during the entire period of her heat cycle. Female dog heat symptoms will include her frequently urinating to disperse her scent to the males in the area. If you take her out for walks you will very soon have a collection of love struck male dogs outside your door. You can also keep a pair of boy's underpants on her during the time she is in the house. This will eliminate the spotting that will occur while she is in heat. Give her a warm bath and plenty of attention. She will be feeling very anxious so you should take the time to give her plenty of love and attention. Remember, your dog really doesn't understand what is happening to her. Her actions are completely instinctual. Be very careful with her when the door to your home is opened. She will try very hard to get outside during this time and this might prove to be the most difficult part of handling her. If you wish to end the female dog heat symptoms the best thing you can do is to have her spayed. There is no reason that your dog should have to live through this period every six months if there is no desire to breed her. You are risking her well being by allowing her to go through this process twice a year. If she gets out of your home she could become injured when the male dogs surround her. This is particularly true if she is not willing to breed. She will fight with the males and she could become seriously hurt. For treating female dog heat symptoms you can really only comfort her and keep her calm and in the home safe. Show her plenty of love and attention and you will both get through this time intact and completely safe.
